Powers and Compensation in Systems with Nonsinusoidal Voltages and Currents Part 7. Control Strategies of Switching Compensators

s. 44-54 DOI: 10.17274/AEZ.2014.16.03

Abstract

Power electronics devices are the main sources of the current and voltage distortion in distribution systems, but at the same time, power electronics based switching compensators can reduce this distortion along with the reactive and unbalanced currents. Various objective of compensation and various control algorithms of switching compensators, based on the CPC-based power theory, are discussed in this paper. A control algorithm based on the Instantaneous Reactive Power p-q Theory is presented as well.
