Power Theory of AC Electrical Circuits

s. 46-56 DOI:

Abstract

Power theory of electrical circuits in its present state of the development is the product of a few generations of electrical engineers and scientists. It is commonly used in phrases such as ‘Fryze’s power theory’, ‘Instantaneous Reactive Power p-q Theory’, or ‘Currents’ Physical Components - CPC - based power theory’ and so on. In spite of the fact that more than hundred years have passed since the first questions about the power theory were asked, some answers are still debatable, however. This paper drafts the power theories as formulated by Budeanu, Fryze, Akagi and Czarnecki.
