Geothermal Power Plants in Poland and Worldwide

s. 80-91 DOI:

Abstract

The important and expected way of using geothermal energy stored both in vapor and in hot underground water is using it to generate electricity. This is due to the convenient way of distribution and conversion of electrical current into other useful forms of energy. Currently, geothermal power plants are operating in 24 countries, based on different technical solution. These solutions are based on parameters of the obtained geothermal heat carrier. The state of geothermal electro energetic systems in the world, operational principals and possibilities of building geothermal power plants in Poland are characterized below.
